Guest guest
Spinning...spinninG Out of Control... Hi Rumi, how are you? I am spinning too... How about if we dance together Me and you? --------- In the past few weeks, some responses to Poison Sky and Soldier Boy (which I never posted to this list. I try to listen, I really do!!!) 1.Stop sending me this f*#^ng bullshi#!!! 2. Take me off your list. I do not appreciate any of the crap you have sent me. I do not agree with your messages. They are full of distortions & garbage. 3. This list has a spiritual orientation as described in the introductory message. Please do not use it to advocate political positions. Members who continue to disregard the list charter will be put on moderation. 4. Your observation is quite valid and the referenced post (Soldier Boy) has nothing to do with Advaita or related topics under discussion. When a member violate the list policies and guidelines, then the violater's privilege is curtailed and all postings from that member will be reviewed before they are released to the list. I do appreciate your compassionate email in support of the referenced post. Honestly, one has to dig very deep and search for the illusory advaita in her story. Though I am sympathetic to what she is saying, her post with the story do not belong to this list. Majority of the members of this list would like to spend their creative energy in learning rather than digging! Note: No more discussion on this topic please. 5. I am writing to seek your legal advice for myself. Today when I walked in to the Post Office to send my Poison Sky letter, the man who first waited on me last week looks over, no smile. I face the counter in front of me, the woman who smirked is on the left. The man who took my post on Saturday morning shortly after 9am, is in the center, just like he was on Sat. There are three of them. The line is long. I wait. When I get to the front of the line, and as I wait for my turn, I kneel down just like I did on Saturday morning. I begin to pray as my religious expression of the antiviolence message of my letter and as my prayer to send the letter off, as well as my choice to appear personally at the post office to post each letter each day to President Bush. .....forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen. Then I begin to read a peace mantra from the Upanishad, English translation...May there be peace on the earth...may there be peace... I continue despite these words from the now openly hostile man on the right at the desk.." please take it somewhere else. This is not the place for what you are doing. There are CHURCHES and other places for it. You are scaring people. If you don''t stop, I am going to call 911 and have them come to arrest you. " When I am done, only a minute's time, I stand up and kiss the envelope before I post it, as in SWAK. I look up and see that the man in the middle had left the scene and put up the "window closed" sign in his spot. He must be the one I am scaring. I think it had something to do with the timing of my Saturday post and prayers... 6. In response to #5 above... "Joyce, we are really worried about you. Your posts lately have been really bizarre. Poison Sky makes absolutely no sense. I can't imagine that you would think that anyone would send it on. I am worried that you have lost all touch with reality. I have to tell you that over the past few years I have been involved with intervention with people who needed psychiatric treatment and I am really worried that you need help. All this talk about God. You are acting like you have totally lost it. Oh, you are quite certain of yourself, are you? Well, that is exactly what a sick person says. They never can see how sick they really are...Some of your posts seem almost disjointed and hyper..." 7. "Joyce, you have been my friend for a long time. You seem so obsessed with God now. There is almost an "eerie calm" about you. ---------- --------- Whew...lions and tigers and bears...oh my...ouch!!! I especially love it when people talk about me and around me as if I am not there...can I say something? NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO, go go go away. OK. I deserve a break today. Now that I am a vegetarian, I need to come up with some creative cooking. Also, I now regularly attend temple at the Chinmaya Mission. I want to get a cookbook of Indian cooking, so I can contribute to the food offerings in an acceptable way. So off I go to the mall and into the bookstore. I find a huge book almost immediately. 1,000 Indian Recipes, by Neelam Batra. If I cannot find some good recipes in here, then I am hopeless, I think as I hold it in my hands. I turn to leave. As I turn around, what to my wondering eyes should appear? No, not a sleigh with eight tiny reindeer.. But a book that I need For my soul to feed To help me to do and say Things the right way :-) Mahatma Ghandi.. An Autobiography Just thrown there on the top of the other books, books that I don't even look at as I almost jump onto poor Mahatma and grab him to my chest... OH, Ghandi, you are the best!!! Thank you, God, for everything. I have no complaints. Love to All, Crazy Eerily Calm Hyper Uncreative Frightening Political Dirty from digging Joyce or is it Joyce Jean or is it Lady Joyce or is it The Lady of Langhorne or is it Lawyer Joyce or is it Joyce Jean Jean (that's my name from confirmation as a Catholic child. Guest guest
Hi Joyce Jean: LOL that was great! Thanks for the chuckles and the insights.. The daily adventures of the non-violent advocates is sad but predictable. What is truly insightful about the adventure we are all on is the thing that is implicit in your post that you are changing and the people around you don't want that. The constant pressure of the world seems to come from ouside us. Indeed the potential is out there. Practice at being non-violent toward that potential becomes habit and self sutstaining so take heart. The transition will not last forever. Patanjali's method was to invoke friendliness on all levels. Joy and gladness to repel apprehension and misconception. Keep your eye on the ball.
