Guest guest
It is night time. Joyce has finally found a chance to sit down at the computer. It has been a tough day. She is looking at her email now. Lady Joyce stands quietly next to her, watching. She sees that Joyce is crying again. She tugs on Joyce’s sleeve. "Please don’t cry. It makes me sad when you cry. Why don’t you give your tears to Maharshi? That’s what he told you to do. Remember?" Joyce does not answer. Sometimes Silence is Conversation. Lady Joyce watches as the tears stream down her face. "Why do you cry so much?. It makes me sad. I thought we were supposed to be looking for Bliss, for Self Realization. Is not that something which will make you feel detached so you won’t cry so much?" "Its ok, sweetness. Joyce is crying. Joy is Ananda. I am just the vehicle for the tears. Just as I am the instrument of God’s will. You are too, little one, more than you can ever Know." Joyce smiles at Lady Joyce through her tears. She puts her hand upon Lady Joyce’s face and strokes her softly. Then she pulls Lady Joyce in to her for a hug. Together, the Light of their Love emanates from them into the room. Lady Joyce speaks again. "But I do not understand. So much of what you have been reading keeps saying that you must first reach your own, what do you call it...Sat-Chit-Ananda, before you can even be able to feel true love and amity towards others. If that takes a lifetime, then so many people will just spend their whole lives selfishly looking after themselves and ignoring the plight of others, using the Vedas as an excuse for inaction rather than finding a balance of Self serving and other serving." Joyce smiles at the wisdom of Lady Joyce. "You know, little one, we all have our own paths to God. The way I see it, just like we chant sacred mantras to help bring us back to focus on the Source, I think we should practice other-serving behavior to help bring us back to focus on the Source, to All That Is. To help us practice looking outside of ourselves and into the other faces of God. Practice makes Perfect." "Besides, We Are All Connected. So, by seeking to help others beings in their despair, don’t we truly seek our way to self knowledge? By going to them in Love, are we not practicing Love for ourselves as well? To me inaction is a form of action. I strive for my actions to be right, to walk in the light, not to hide in the shadows of the night. If I am wrong, then I guess Moksha is not mine this time around." Joyce shrugs, let’s out some laughter, and goes back to the computer. Lady Joyce is not done. She tugs at Joyce’s sleeve again, this time almost knocking her Heart right off of her sleeve. When she has Joyce’s attention, she speaks again. " Joyce, about those prayers for peace that Harshaji said he put up onto his website about a year ago? Joyce, don’t get mad at me for asking, because I know how much you respect Harshaji, but what good is a year old bunch of prayers now, just sitting there on his website? Do Harshaji’s prayers last longer than ours? Do they say themselves over and over again? Is It because he Knows so much more than us. He has been doing This for so many years and we are only about 11 months old." Joyce grabs Lady Joyce playfully and almost knocks her Heart off her sleeve She pulls Lady Joyce in for another hug. She fondles the rosary that Lady Joyce holds in her left hand. " Listen, sweetie. I don’t think that is what Harshaji meant. I was too upset at the time to think straight, but what I think he was trying to tell us was that the prayers for peace were there for all of us to say. They will be repeated as many times as we take the time to repeat them, with Love and Sincerity in our Hearts. As long as we do not attach ourselves to the results of our actions, or to the way we want God to answer our prayers, we will be on the right path." Lady Joyce will not be silenced. "Then why don’t you write a prayer for peace? That is not political, is it? That is something you can post, is it not? Why not?" Joyce’s eyes light up as her smile spreads clear across her face. "Oh, Lady Joyce, you are so wise sometimes." She laughs. " That is what I will do. A Prayer for Peace. Perfect!!! We both know the Power of Prayer, don’t we?" Lady Joyce holds her white rosary in both hands now and looks down at it with reverence. She kneels down next to Joyce, carefully arranging her white petticoats around her. The Light shines in her face as she looks up at Joyce, tears now flowing freely from her eyes. "Yes, Joyce, we Know the Power of Prayer. OM, Namah Shivaya." Joyce looks down at Lady Joyce and says quietly..."OM, Namah Shivaya." Joyce kneels down and puts her arms around Lady Joyce. Lady Joyce wraps her arms around Joyce as they join together in the Light...Connected Seamlessly at the Heart ...in the Oneness of Divinity. A soft luminous Light Glows in them and around them. OM, Namah Shivaya. May All Beings Live in Peace and Harmony.
