Guest guest
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing that quote dear Miles. '140. D. : What is reality? M. : Reality must always be real. It is not with forms and names. That which underlies these is the Reality. It underlies limitations, being itself limitless. It is not bound. It underlies unrealities, itself being real. Reality is that which is. It is as it is. It transcends speech, beyond the expressions, e.g., existence, non-existence, etc.' (from Talks; Ramanasramam, 1978) Bhagavan's words are often repeated in different variations by the "modern neo advaitins" of the day without understanding. Upon entering the Heart, one becomes the Heart, and sees that One Is Always the Heart in any state, One is Always the Reality, the Self. Although we are never outside the Heart, and are the Heart, there is also the entering of the Heart. It is a paradox. The Heart cannot be entered by merely engaging in verbal gymnastics! :-). We can actually see some of the shows of verbal fluency in non dual lingo on these lists. Those who are attached to words and concepts dance on the periphery. One does not feel, "I am ParaBrahman." One Is ParaBrahman, without thought or doubt or feeling. The final truth about both of these is, indeed, realised by the seers of truth. --- note: This verse might also be translated as: ''The non-existent is not found to be existent; the existent is not found to be non-existent. The final truth about both of these is seen by seers of truth.'' The first translation shows the appropriate attitude of the practicioner of vichara (enquiry), as hinted at by Sages such as Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. '140. D. : What is reality?
