Guest guest
"... she has fallen into certainty of knowing nothing and into certainty of willing nothing. And this nothingness gives her the All, and no one can possess it in any other way." ~Marguerite Porete Marguerite was a 14th century, French mystic who authored a book entitled "The mirror of simple annihilated souls and those who only remain in will and desire of love". This book was condemned by the French Inquisition as being heretical. Marguerite Porete was asked to recant. When she refused to respond to her inquisitors, she was condemned to death. On 1 June 1310 she was burned at the stake in Paris. Lalla was a 14th century, Indian mystic. She too, was condemned and harassed by her peers. But she was also revered and had many followers who responded to her outpourings of bliss. India’s long history of spiritual endeavor allowed for the expression that manifested as it did through Lalla. She went naked and sang bhajans all over India. When you see yourself and someone elseas one being, when you know the most joyful day and the most terrible nightas one moment, then awareness is alone with its Lord. ~Lalla In France, the climate of the Catholic-dominated cities and towns would not allow for the likes of Marguerite Porete. Everything she said and did went against church dogma and doctrine. It was the same experience of Al-Hallaj in 900. He was a poet-mystic and the OneSong flowed through him uninterruptedly. He said, “I Am the Truth,” and would not recant when the Islamic clerics and officials insisted he do so. Al-Hallaj was imprisoned, tortured and eventually dismembered and decapitated at a public execution. And still, unto the end, he uttered the Mystery with his lifeblood and his song. Your Spirit mixed with my Spirit little by little, by turns, through reunions and abandons. And now I am Yourself, Your existence is my own, and it is also my will. ~(Diwan al-Hallaj) I have seen my Lord with the eye of my heart, and I said: "Who are You?" He said:"You." ~(Diwan al-Hallaj, M. 10) I do not cease swimming in the seas of love, rising with the wave, then descending; now the wave sustains me, and then I sink beneath it; love bears me away where there is no longer any shore. ~(Diwan al-Hallaj, M. 34) ~ Little River Beach, Eureka, Ca LoveAlways,Mazie Enjoy MSN 8 patented spam control and more with MSN 8 Dial-up Internet Service.
