Guest guest
I created a new web page today. It is called The Foundation Page. It is a step by step guide to the study of Sri Ramana Maharshi's teachings. It is also a step by step guide to moving from ego preservation to ego dissolution. You can read it by clicking this link: http://uarelove1.tripod.com/FOUNDATION.htm Take care, with Love, Michael L. Namaste. Your thinking seems to be very clear. Dear Swamy: It is clear now. However it was not clear in the past. Most of the errors that are pointed out on the Foundation Page are errors that I made in the past. When the desire for freedom was weak. To be in a state of clarity everyday, free of all doubts, to be flooded with clear-insight everyday is such a blessing. Every error discovered and thus transcended, completely changes one's view of Sri Ramana's Teachings. Errors are like detours and disctractions. They have no place on the Direct Path. They are unnecessary, because the intense desire for freedom will eliminate them and allow one to see them. Just take the simple example of ceasing to study prescriptions for ailements other than liberation. Oh how that changes everything and eliminates confusion. Normally what almost everyone does is to take a prescription Sri Ramana gave for one ailment and apply it to some other ailment. Just see what confusion this causes. A new teaching thus arises that is unrelated to Sri Ramana's Teaching. The solution is simple. The solution is to study the answers to questions about the most direct means to liberation and not to study the hundreds or thousands of other topics. Also to pay very close attention to the question. Just imagine if one sees that alcohcol or hydrogen peroxide is good to rub on the skin, and thinking that: "Well if it is good for a skin wound it must be good for stomach problems too" one then drinks a bottle of rubbing alchohol or hydrogen peroxide. One will become very ill, maybe end up in the hospital, but one will not cure the stomach problems that way. In the same way, it is amazing to note that when one reads the acccount of those who study Sri Ramana's teaching, that it never occurs to them to look closely at the question and apply the answer only to that question. I wonder at how I did not see that before. Oh how tricky the ego is. Just understanding this one point completely changes the way one studies Sri Ramana's Teachings. For those extremely rare individuals, (who are almost as rare as talking turtles), who are intent on liberation now in this life, most of what are called Sri Ramana's teachings, will not be studied, because they are simply distractions or detours and not Sri Ramana's Teachings at all, or as per Sri Muruganar's warning: a reflection of the foolish thoughts of those who came before him, mistaken to be his Teachings. Just think of the great confusion of applying a teaching that was meant for one purpose to some other purpose. So that is what I am working on now, on the Foundation Page, to give specific examples, of that and other strategies the ego uses to preserve its imaginary self. It is interesting to note that in the book Talks, covering so many years of diaglouge, Sri Ramana almost never initiated any recommendation to anyone to read anything, including his teachings. That is quite consistent with the huge number of warnings he gave against endless reading. Sri Ramana gave many tips on which portions of his teachings should be studied, how they should be studied etc. It is interesting to note that almost everyone ignores Sri Ramana's recommendations. The ego is so tricky, and its ability to block out, or ignore, or not see is amazing. When one is flooded with clear-insight everyday, one wonders, how could I have not seen before? Oh what a trickster the ego is. Self-honesty and the desire for freedom changes everything. > The Roman numbering system is correct. What you have written so far. > I will send you separately upto 50 (L). Will it be enough? Someone has already sent me the tens, 20, 30, 40, etc., up to 2000. So I was joking with him that let us hope that I don't need 2000 for the Foundation page. LOL 53 points were writtten for section IX THOUGHT, THINKING, CONCEPTS. 109 points have been written for section X DISCERNMENT; HOW TO DISCOVER SRI RAMANA'S DIRECT TEACHINGS I have not posted them yet, because I am still working on it. I think there will be a lot more points to come in section X, because it is good to give a lot of specific examples, instead of just general statements. Take care, with Love, Michael L. > > Sai Ram.
