Guest guest
Dear Sangha: I still have not had a chance to catch up with all the personal e-mails. Thanks TG, Mazie, Holly, David, John, Ram, Kheyala, Dee, Bhuvan, Sarojini, Dora, Ganga, Dirk, and so many others for your kind notes and words of support. My father is slowly making progress but still is in a lot of physical and psychological discomfort. He will be out of the hospital in about a month more. All is well. All will be well. May all beings be free from sorrow. Love, Harsha

When I was twelve years old he had a heart attack. He was only thirty-eight and in outward appearance, a fit and trim man who lived a very active life with five children to raise. His own father, his mother and his brothers all had heart attacks and three of them died from it. My father had two kinds of heart problems: angina and congestive. He also had diabetes, just like his mother and brother did. During one of the proceedures to see how blocked his arteries were, my father had a near-death experience. He saw himself above his body watching the doctor and nurses, seeing them code blue him and try to revive him. When he "returned" he told them about the experience and even quoted their conversation back to them and described what they did to him. He said that he went no further, that he could recall, than the ceiling of the room and out of his body. It was always tough seeing my father grow weaker and more dependent on others for his care. He was a way proud man and it was difficult for him to accept his condition. I certainly came to better understand how difficult it must have been for him to see me struggle as his child with pain and disease. How much he gave me in those days when I was so struggling with my ability to bear the brunt of both the disease and the reactions of others to the disease. When he was becoming more ill daily, I tried to always return what he had given me, the Love, the kindness and respect, the time, the time that one who's struggling needs from others by the very nature of the condtion. Your own Beloved father is incomparably lucky-blessed to have you as his son. What comfort and strength you must be for him right now! Father and son together, walking in the Embrace of Love itself. Guest guest
Hi Harsha, When my dad was really sick there was something I wish someone had said to me: "Whatever you're feeling, it's completely okay. And whatever you're not feeling, well that's completely okay too." Who knows? Maybe that would be helpful for your father to hear too. Sending love to you both, Kheyala , Harsha wrote: > Dear Sangha: > > I still have not had a chance to catch up with all the personal e- mails. > > Thanks TG, Mazie, Holly, David, John, Ram, Kheyala, Dee, Bhuvan, > Sarojini, Dora, Ganga, Dirk, and so many others for your kind notes and > words of support. > > My father is slowly making progress but still is in a lot of physical > and psychological discomfort. > > He will be out of the hospital in about a month more. > > All is well.
