Guest guest
As I read some of the posts on "who done did it?", this song from my early teens keeps playing in my mind, only I keep changing the line to... Nobody's wrong if everybody's right... Wisdom I learned a while back from Jan :-) ------ For What it’s Worth- Buffalo SpringfieldI think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down There's battle lines being drawn Nobody's right if everybody's wrong Young people speaking their minds Getting so much resistance from behind I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down What a field-day for the heat A thousand people in the street Singing songs and carrying signs Mostly say, hooray for our side It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down ... Anyway, each person who has written on it, what they have said is what resonates for them, what is right to them. For each one of them, the Lord is speaking through them as they are at that moment. Anne Chris wrote below a while back in the "what is love" thread In fact, some of what she wrote had me thinking about this subject, just as Vicki was thinking about it too...what does it mean, really? : Anne... So if Love / compassion arises it has nothing to do with the personal it is quite impersonal at source. I dont think you can choose to love or be compassionate. Its down to your DNA genes, your destiny, up todate conditioning Cosmic law and the will of God. In short you are not the doer. Ramesh quotes Buddha. (how I dislike quoting any one but I suppose it is helpful) "Events happen Deeds are done But there is no individual doer thereof" Basically there is only consciousness which expresses all the varied actions and emotions through us. ------ Michael wrote: someday somehow I realized that whatever I do thru the Ego is of no avail that I asked the BELOVED ONE let my Ego go and take complete command of mine - Durga wrote...Try this. It has helped me, a lot. There is a sanskrit word, dehatmabuddhi. This word means the strong notion (buddhi) in the mind, that the body (deha), is the atma (Self). The body, and everything comprising it are objects in your awareness. Your mind, all your thoughts, are objects in your awareness. What is this awareness? It is not the body. It is not the mind. These are objects in your awareness. You can watch all of these objects come and go and change. What is it that does not change? That is your awareness. It is yourSelf. This awareness illumines your mind, but it is not your mind.Your mind has taken itself to be that awareness, but it is not.Maybe try making the distinction, between what comes and goes and changes, and what does not. Perhaps this will help. Dear Durga: What you say makes sense to me insofar as I have often observed that no matter how much my body ages or my perceptions and perspectives change, there is a part of me that always remains the same, feels the same, if you will. Kind of like the "witness." Always there, when I was 4 or 10 or 20, and so on :-) Changeless...timeless...neti...neti ---------- Bhuvi wrote what felt right to him... some of it I did not understand, either, LOL, but I took from it what was there for me to understand and that is all that matters... There is another saying, dear Michael... "Everything is exactly as it should be." Knowing that in my heart is for me what amounts to surrender in a way that I embrace what is happening in my life, even when it hurts some part of me. Why?...because like Bhuvi says... Even an ant will not bite without the will of Eshwara and now, for a word from our sponsor...with apologies to Michael :-) http://www.omshaantih.com/Not%20the%20Doer.htm Love, Joyce
