Namaste,

"AC: When you're alone, do you spend a lot of time physically being

still?

ET: Yes, I can sometimes sit for two hours in a room with almost no

thought. Just complete stillness. Sometimes when I go for walks,

there's also complete stillness; there's no mental labeling of sense

perceptions. There's simply a sense of awe or wonder or openness,

and that's beautiful."

If you examine this and many other sayings from Tolle you will see

that he obviously has a mind. For he doesn't say the no thought

state but almost no thought. So I'll go back to my orignal post on

Tolle where I said he lived locally, and might have had some kind of

samadhi but wasn't a Jivanmukta. It is my belief that only a Mukta

can be a true guru Sadguru. This doesn't take away the sticks that

Tolle throws out, but lets not attribut things to people they may

not claim for themselves. We have to keep our own critical faculties

to purify the Buddhi and avoid dangerous surrenders and

paths....ONS..Tony

Did you ever consider the possibility that you have already

surrendered to a dangerous entity, your own 'critical faculty' i e.

your mind... ?

Namaste Sam,

One uses a thorn to remove a thorn, it has nothing to do with

surrendering critical faculties. It is about purifying that section

of mind called the intellect, so we may better understand Who am I?

etc. It is all part of neti neti and Self Enquiry.........ONS..Tony

I don't see any Neti neti in your assertions about masters..

Are you purifying the intellect really? Who is warning others about dangerous surrender...??

devi: i've learned from meher baba that actually the mind is divided

into two parts, thoughts and feelings....i imagine that the intellect

is just a small part of the mind that needs to be purified...
