Guest guest
Namaste All, Ramana says a Guru should be one who brings peace. What is a Sadguru? Steady abidance in the Self, looking at all with an equal eye unshakable courage at all times, in all places and circumstances. He who instructs a seeker to do this or that is not a true master. The seeker is already afflicted with activity wants peace and rest. In other words he wants cessation of his activities. Activity is creation. Activity is the destruction of one's inherent happiness. If activity is advocated the adviser is not a master but a killer.p97 "Be as you are". So a true Sadguru is a Mukta. A silent Sage. People say a Guru should write books and travel around creating activity giving lectures and speechifying and such. These are the signs of an unrealised person. Rajasic activity. A Mukta in the Himalayan Cave can do more for humanity by never writing a book, giving a speech or even leaving his cave!!!!!!!!!!! There were great Gurus in the past, who did wander around, whether they were Muktas or Bhodisattvas I don't know. Bhodisattvas or Karana Janmas needed not take birth, for the could stay in Brahmaloka until pralaya, actually mahapralaya. My guess is avatars and people like Jesus are in this category. They do however have the ability to put down mental patterns at the higher common human mind level. The phenonoma of bookwriting gurus is much a modern thing. Our society is replete with them at every level, from preachers, Robbins types, Tolle types etc etc... Be still and know that I Am God...........ONS...Tony

Namaste Devi, I try not to think too much on that. A jivanmukta is someone who is liberated whilst still living. I would be happy enough if I were shown a tree and all its leaves were my future lives, for than I would see the end to this delusion....I/we have live millions of trees already.....ONS...Tony

It is usually translated as 'Seekers', in the ancient traditions. Another possibility is Isis=female, Ra=Sungod male, El= The combination. El is the same as Allah, cognitive that is....ONS..Tony.
