Guest guest
My mother is an artist, a painter. When her children had grown up enough to go to school she studied art at Yale University. When her children she were very young, she used the furnishings in our house for her creative outlet. Our dressers, cribs, beds, chairs, were painted with flowers, nursery rhymes and illustrations of fairy tales. She had a wooden sewing basket which she painted yellow. She decorated the top with blue forget me nots and painted the words, "Tis love, tis love that makes the world go round." I enjoyed looking at the sewing box and pondering these words. I was old enough to read this cryptic saying, but what did it mean? How did love have the power to make the world go round? In my mind's eye I saw a picture of our globe turning in space. What did love have to do with that? These words never made any sense to me when I was a child. After a while, I came to the inevitable conclusion that this was just a fanciful saying. But, now I know it is true. Love does make the world go round and everything else as well. Happy Valentine's Day. Love, Durga
