Guest guest
Namaste, The more one examines the world religions the more they all hark back to a much earlier common time. In Bhakti, Prasad is important or the offering of food to one's Ishtadevata. Khrishnabahktis are the easiest example to show. They pray over their food in order to bless it before eating. They believe they are infusing vibrations that actually are not different from Krishna himself. This is the same thing as the Mass or Last Supper where Jesus prayed over the food and said this is my body this is my blood. The Melchizadek sacrifice of bread and 'wine', or Must. Reincarnation in the Bible is written as Resurrection but in the gospels there is evidence of an earlier patent belief. For example when Jesus cured the centurions blind son, the apostles asked if it was the sin of the parents or the child that made the baby born blind. Even the concept of Avatar is the same, although Hindus allow for several, not one exclusive, which may only be a later idea in Christianity. The ceremony of the dead or a funeral in Hinduism or Sradda I believe. This concept exists in the sacrament of extreme unction in Catholicism at least. So most of the Bhakti Yogas or Religions are similar.....ONS..Tony
