Guest guest
Members who do not respect the list principles and spirit become subject to moderation. While much leeway is granted to long time members for self-expression, it is not unlimited. Please keep in mind that people were periodically kicked out from Sri Ramanaashsram for not complying with Ashram policies. This is a Sangha (circle of friends) and so list behavior appropriate to the sangha is expected. If the Sangha does not meet your requirements, there are many lists available as an outlet for your energy, wisdom, creativity, profoundity, etc. Love to all Harsha ===== /join Search - Find what you’re looking for faster http://search. Guest guest
Dear Harsha a little story. In the early days of AA there was one member who just could not get on the programme but he contributed to the well being of others in many different ways. He was a mirror for them. He helped write the 12 steps. Perhaps he scared others into being sober. He was unorthodox, a pain in the butt a wonderful soul but he just could not be sober / balanced all of the time. His contribution was enormous. Just depends whether you think he was the doer or not. One Guru I was impressed with said " You have as much freedom as the tethered cow" So whatever comes through a person comes through, we can choose to listen or not according to our own conditioning / destiny, there is the off switch. If there is no reaction to what is said the ego disolves/ calms down or takes its ball and plays else where. With much love to all Chris

There are times and periods when it is hidden under a bushel, but someone eventually picks it up and says, 'this is the truth why is it hidden?' It just like the pendelum it sways back and forth until eventually it stops. As everything is ordained and truth will prevail one only has to have patience and out it comes..............ONS..Tony

On the outskirts we ran into a yogi Hirakali who was a prophet and could see the past and the future. He called us to him but we were not interested. He said, "Things have already happened to you at the higher level...if you wish I can tell you what they are..." Gautam said, "If things have already happened at the higher level, what is the point of knowing." Hirakali smiled and said, "Well you screwed a lot of beautiful women at the higher level and also starved yourself and at one point had food poisoning. Just thought you may want to know the sequence of events!" We had a good laugh. I said to Gautam, "Screwed beautiful women..." "Well, I was a prince you see" said the Buddha bashfully. Guest guest
I have reviewed much of the material site but still have a question on Self-Inquiry and the experience of the Heart pull or sensation on the right side of the chest. There seems to be a sensation - almost throbbing - but more of a pull. This pulling sensation is present much of my walking life and causes no discomfort. I have done much spritual reading and recognize the contradictions and discussions of the spiritual heart. I am not really interested in theory but on how to do Self-Inquiry with this experience present. Could I get some guidence on "Watch wherefrom this sphurana (throbbing) arises and wait attentively". This quote comes from the site: In the course of tracing ourselves back to our source, when all thoughts have vanished, there arises a throb from the Hridaya on the right, manifesting as 'Aham' 'Aham'. This is the sign that Pure Consciousness is beginning to reveal itself. But that is not the end in itself. Watch wherefrom this sphurana (throbbing) arises and wait attentively and continually for the revelation of the Self. Then comes the awareness, oneness of existence. Thanks so kindlyRon

Hi Ron: Asking "Who am I?" is a mental habit to be instilled in the mind so that it will recur automatically to remind one to look inwardly. When you are currently aware of the throbbing, that is, currently looking inward, there is no need for asking "Who am I?". Just wait attentively with the attention focused inwardly on the heart, in the face of any distraction. The spiritual heart is the seat of the Self in the body and also the place from which the breath arises. That is the act of Self Inquiry. Guest guest
Dear Ron, You should also post on Sri Ramana list. Miles Wright, the list founder is a very wise person and very familiar with Sri Ramana's teachings. I do not know what to tell you but will say this. Sri Ramana said to us that if we can just "Be" that is enough. The fruit of Self-Inquiry is to abide in Pure Being. One can also say that only when Pure Being asserts Itself for Self-Revelation can Self-Inquiry take place at all. The matter of Hrydyam (Literally implying "Here I AM") is important. How we view the Spiritual Heart differs according to understanding of people. Spiritual Heart that Sri Ramana refers to is the place where the mind and Shakti disappear into the Self. But it is not something that can be visualized or conceptualized as it is Pure Self-Knowing independent of conceptual knowledge. What you feel (throbbing or pull on the right side of the chest), you feel, and whatever you feel, if you feel it with awareness is the path. Same can be said of any feeling. In the Yogic Samadhi, Kevala Nirvikalpa, the mind is directly experienced as being drawn from the brain down into the Spiritual Heart which is slightly to the right of the middle. It is here that the "I" is swallowed up by the Heart and Recognizes that "I AM Heart". The experience cannot go beyond where the "I" has disappeared. There is always much more to say but words will never be enough Ron. Let your sincerity and inner intuition and Sri Ramana's Grace be your guide. What else do people like us have to rely on?
