Guest guest
Good point John. The quote is on page 202 of my edition. It is explained at the bottom of page 201 that this conversation took place with Mr. Poonja, a Punjabi gentleman. I wonder if that is Poonjaji of the Papaji fame. The Heart is one of Sri Ramana's favorite themes and he speaks of it from many perspectives. You can read more about the Heart on the HS website which is dedicated to Sri Ramana. Click on the url below Then click on Volume I and II Read the section on Heart, Nirvikalpa Samadhi,.... Love to all Harsha "Love itself is the actual form of God." Sri Ramana In "Letters from Sri Ramanasramam" by Suri Nagamma - "bharani" <bharani "Rm-Group" <RamanaMaharshi> Saturday, March 27, 2004 9:39 AM [RamanaMaharshi] Be As You Are Hello: Chapter Six ("Self-Enquiry - Misconceptions) of the Indian edition of this book gives as footnote 16, the reference to Day By Day with Bhagavan as page 202. However this does not match up with my old edition of Day By Day (i.e. this quote isn't on page 202). The quote by the way, given in the Indian edition of Be As You Are is cited on page 76, and it is: "I ask you to see where the 'I' rises in your body, but it is really not quite correct to say that the 'I' rises from and merges in the Heart in the right side of the chest. The Heart is another name for the reality and it is neither inside nor outside the body. There can be no 'in' or 'out' for it, since it alone is." If any references to this book are cited, it is always best if the date on which the journal entry was made is cited, as this will be the same whatever edition of Day By Day one has.
