Dear Vironica , time is only a concept .in the organ of cognition , the brain

and sensory

apparatus where time , space and causality are a priori .This is why the world

Maya as a

representation seems to be real .in fact there is no creation or destruction

from an absolutist

advaitic standpoint .The mind is incapable of understanding this because it is

not equiped to

handle such concepts as timelessness .There is only an Eternal Now in which

everything happens

-this transcends time -space -causality etc.I trust this helps , Regards Alan

I came to know that meditation means not only the classical approach

of sitting and stopping the thinking process or concentrating on some

outside/inside reference ;

Whatever causes the mind to 'stop' is meditation.

On reading this "We cannot imagine timelessness, simultaneous

existence of all lifetimes " my mind stopped.

I walked around the house and talked and did what I had to do with a

mind

that 'stopped' because of trying to imagine timelessness or

simultaneous

existence of all lifetimes.

I realized that my mind receives a shock when trying to

imagine something

beyond its capabilities and 'stops'. Then the feeling moves down in my

stomach and tends to 'stop' the body also.

Then the words of the Maharshi sound in my head :

"there is no creation no destruction

there is no creation no destruction

there is no creation no destruction ...."

These increase my mental blockage even more .

And I love them , and I love them !

I am in love with 'there is no creation no destruction'.

And I sense my body and feelings as the 'broken toy'.

The 'broken toy' prays for the mercy of the Maharshi as

I don't know what will be next.

i would say I am not concerned at all about the brain

or about any sensory apparatus neither to think of time as a concept

nor to offer to myself any explanation of any sort nor to

analyze anything.

Now I see by your answer how easy it is to be misunderstood

when actually we just want to 'throw' away a feeling ,

a sensation , an apperception , a something ,

to comunicate just for the sake of sharing ,

immediately somebody else - another human mind - feels

the need to come our way or one's own way

with an explanation.

I think it is exactly what human mind has to do on

this path : stop giving logical eexplanations ,

stop them totally , let them go , let the mind stop.

What I was talking about was just about another aspect

of meditation : feed the mind something that can't grasp ,

feed it but don't explain it ! Any explanation spoils

the effect.

Feed it so and then let the Maharshi do his job.

Offer your mind to him.

Dear Viorica , thanks for the respomse .I see your point of view .The reason I

wrote about the

mechanism of Maya is that you seemed not to comprehend the Absolute statement

that " There

is no Creation , no Destruction "It is a bit ;like "nothing ever happens".Unless

there is an

intellectual understanding of the world as illusion it can lead to confusion

..Practice goes wrong

unless the theory is right .I am sure you understand this .Raman's 40 Verses on

Reality were

written explicitely to clarify the intellectual understanding . Self Realisation

unfolds the

subtle intellect which may understand such concepts as Simultaneous Creation ,

the Eternal Now

etc.of course all this goes hand in hand with Bakti and Meditation , Enquiry ,

Diving etc.i am

sure we do not disagree but are coming in from different angles to the same

when I wanted to answer you here it came in my inbox from another

list the answer I was trying to point out in almost same words

I intended to answer :

" What I was trying to point out to you is that our rationality

alone cannot come up with an answer about the reason for our

existence. Every time it tries, the answer turns into a matter of

beliefs. "

What I was trying to point out to you : leave the mind without

any rational explanation ,leave it there by itself , helpless ,

alone , unfeeded by any logical rational intelectual answer,

whether it is about the reason for our existence as the quote

states or about trying to grasp mentally that all the worlds and

past - future - present and all lifetimes : all is happening

simultaneously now.

See what happens . The answer is not to come from me to you

or from you to me.

One thing that might happen would be that mind's

linearity is broken for ever and it will never be in any

need of any explanation that human reason can provide.

It is the realm where we are in the hands of our Inner Guide

that alone knows when and how to push and how to guide ,

Inner Guide's answers we can only *know* and from there

knowledge begins and so it is absoultely unique to any human

being . Call the Inner Guide Heart if you like it ,

I love to call it the Unknown , the great Rishi the Maharshi

and some other favourite names,

Meditation

WHEN GIVING up attachment -- pinned to things

as ivy tendrils cling to prison wall --

we tend to hear an inner clarion call:

"Rest in the flame of Self" the Phoenix sings!

"This is your natural state" the trumpet rings!

Dwell deep in Consciousness of Real Being.

To be a Light of effortless, seeing

That I am That I am. The bird starts fleeing

to inward soar and safely nest in Heart,

Released from snare, the properties of sense.

Unveil now the Natural Godlike part

within , and in the Self rest; in blissful ease

so regain the One illumined, from whence

we strayed, and now come back to perfect peace.
