Guest guest
The topic of Nirvikalpa Samadhi is given much prominence in yogic and advaitic texts. Vivekachudamani states (Sri Ramana translates in the "Collected Works"), "Brahman can be clearly experienced without any barriers only through Nirvikalpa Samadhi, for apart from that the mental mode always fluctuates, leading from one thought to another." One can also look at Patanjali's yoga sutras and Tripura Rahasya and other texts on the matter. Strong and firm conviction in the Advaitic truth that comes from hearing, "Aham Brahamasmi" paves the way. Absolute faith in Guru calls forth the Grace to lead the mind to the Heart. This is illustrated by the following story that comes to mind. Please correct if memory is faulty. When King Janaka was about to climb his horse, the Guru Astavakra shouted "Stop!" Janaka having fully surrendered to his Guru instantly realized the true meaning of "Stop" and became a knower of the Self.
