I like the Thomas Gospel for it is so Vedantic, however I wouldn't

call it renegade. It was only discovered recently and the compilers

of the canon may not have even known about it. It is rather gnostic

after all. They liked the parables and story gospels for the

ordinary folk....Even then they expurgated a lot ---what's

new?....ONS..Tony.
