Guest guest
"Unity Consciousness," in living, breathing color and movement, white against white, pink against pink, non-movement, as if one were an apple blossom suspended still against the clear blue sky... Trompe L'Oile in real life. Bob came in the house yesterday after his afternoon walk which he was accompanied with by his bamboo staff at side, Amos running on his own black dog high, and the camera, with a tale that had me frozen motionless with interest. (He actually got all his words in, and not edgewise...quite the unusual, and big surprise) He said that he had seen a spider that was the perfect imitation of an apple blossom. Excited, he went on to say how it had slowly suspended itself down from the petals of the apple blossoms he was photographing, dangling like a fat and sassy ballet dancer from its silken-threaded web. "Oh boy! Did you get his picture? Did he stay long enough to get very many shots off?" I was by now puppy-huffing the air myself, happy and delerious that he had captured one of the great mysteries and treats of the Beloved - Playing and pretending He's not what He actually is, or, ummm, isn't. I had seen such a thing only once before in my life, and not this actual particular variety. I was excited, very excited. Bob pops into action again, his jaw drawing back up into snap action, ready to fill me with the thrilling tale of how he'd (and I, by proxy-baby being) captured the uncapturable on film. Boy were we going to get some great back-pats around the bhava board tonight! Such was my far-fetched dream of achievement, maybe pulitzerey moments unfolding for us, before Bob had even told me the full story. Aahh, projected glory. Bob says, with a look of kid-innocence on his dear face, "I didn't get a picture of him. I was too stunned to even realize I had a camera in my hands." (I think now of Alan and the eagles he first saw soaring above him.) "Uh, say again." "I didn't get any pictures of him." He looks a little more animated now, somehow getting into the groove of him behooving himself before me about a miraculous mystery he'd just witnessed. He smilingly confides to me now, "And I'm not lying either!" He's referring to he and I saying sometimes about our wild rides, "We're not making this shit up!" "Ah man, you didn't get a picture?" Sheesh. Mystery shines in a moment then vanishes back into the particular hiding place that hid it, but for that instant when we stand amidst the Beauty, seeking nothing, asking nothing, stunned and stoned on such things as bees droning by, full and fluffy-footed from pollen-tantra, and once in a lfetime, if one gets lucky, a moment when Mystery shows Itself, Sweet and Present and wrapped like a present from Love Itself. Sheesh. Hopes of the groping of God, dashed in the very thing that brought it - Awe! So we laughed and then laughed alot more. What was in store we could not foresee. Aahhh, that fafa fa, that Spring-Thingy, Fraulein-Full Winery of Mystery...marking time by abiding in our own delight, dancing on the cusp of its birth, brightly brought in the bow of Brahma on an apple blossom that we had not even noticed. Bob had not even noticed the Tone had been set for Spider-Sat-Tat-Om to hit home. Not Yet. We sat down to download and upload the photographs that he'd taken, in spite of the respite of Rapture capturing him not capturing the Uncapturable. Apple blossoms began spilling from the screen, dreamlike in the slideshow mode of Abiding...slide by intoxicting slide. We were drunk on the honey of each other and the blossoms, the memoried fragrance saturation, the excellence of the pictures dipping down and around inside the heart of our united eyes. Unity Consicousness of Awe. And then we saw, we saw it and it nearly slipped by again into the folds of the frames that it came from. I shrilled, "Bob! I saw it! Did you see it?! Bob!" Bob: "I saw it." Spider-Goddess, God in petal-bodice, the balance of life and light and love... We were the shore and the sea agreement. Perhaps, you might agree, when you see.
