Guest guest
Namaste, I watched an interview on CBC, with Shirin, the inimtable and hilarious Archbishop Tutu, and the serene Dalai Lama. Shirin was asked about religious strife around the world and presumably the Muslims. She answered thus; One cannot blame Christianity for the Massacre of the Bosnians. One cannot blame Islam for the horrors of terrorism etc. One cannot blame Judaism for the oppression of the Palestinians, Christians and Muslims. At one level I agree with her, and she is right. However it is interesting that all three of these 'Semitic Religions', as they are known, condone violence to animals. This is a fault line that permeates the followers of these religions, attracts negative karma and instutionalises violence. I notice that Hinduism/Jainism has its problems but I don't notice them carrying out wars of conquest. And violence is not institutionalised but something to rise above.........ONS..Tony.
