Guest guest
markwotter704 The more I ponder Gauss as a metaphor, the more I like it. Just as Dr. Gauss was a mathematician by doing math, we are the self by living as the self. It's not enough to talk about it. Mark, you say, "we are the Self by living as the Self." (Capitals mine.) I imagine that it might be more accurate to say that we are always the Self, that it would not be possible, as it were, to NOT be the Self, but that the full understanding, the "abiding in truth" follows from living as the Self. If you can overlook the capitals, do you agree with that? And if you do agree, can you offer any practical suggestions as to how I might go about "living the truth." Any suggestions that would help to overcome the idea of separate identity would be greatly appreciated. You say, "live free of labels". Can you go further into that? Few concrete examples? Love Warwick Hmmm... on the other hand... I used to be a scientist. I still know how to think like a scientist and I haven't forgotten ALL the science I once knew, but I'm no longer "doing" science. It occurs to me that I am therefore in some way now free of the label "scientist" Dr. Gauss was a mathematician, but I'll bet he was also... well, I'm too lazy to look up his biography, so I'll bet he ate and breathed and had friends and had enemies and... so much more than "just" math. So when I say we need to live as the self, I mean to live freely of labels. We practice life, not some subset of life.Alright, enough practicing of philosophy 101...be well and send money,Mark
