Guest guest
The Manna of Connection Each day we rely on the manna of connection. Everything else is junk food--empty of spiritual value. Oh, certain relationships are valid on their own level. Man is a social animal, but once we rise above the animal level, where do we "meet the Master"? The Master, as spoken of by Karlfried von Durkheim, is the one that chases you back onto the way. He never allows you to settle down into complacency. He is there to rob you of mechanical reactions and peel off your boring facade. He quickens you in ways that make you squirm. By that definition, with whom do you feel a connection? in some cases, this quickening is done more gently. My friend, Peter, connects with me on a gentle basis. He strikes a note of harmony with what in me is potentially kinder and gentler, easier to be with. I met an Indian gentleman while I was out walking last month. He gave me an entire teaching in one brief meeting. It was this. Remember your God and your parents. Give without thought of reward; make people happy. He reminded me that God was everywhere and then he disappeared back into his son's house. A connection was made and remains in effect even while I am away from him. And there are one or two others who seem to resonate with me in a surprising way. Perhaps if you ask yourself who you are connected with, you will be surprised. It seems to be "the few" who really matter to us. So why do we cater to the crowd? Just wondering..... Guest guest
Dear Vicky, what a meaningful message! Look - its the same with me..... ....and Love must be sometimes very "cruel" to put us back on the road - at least in my experience..... This "connections" are the real ones - like you state Just one point of slight disagreement Dear one! ......rise above animal level..... in my experience human beings not only can bust must learn so much from relationsships with animals..... I lived and live with soooo many different animals - and all showed clear direct affection sometimes real real LOVE like the BELOVED Ramana told us so often..... Lots of sunshine for both of you.....
