Congratulations Gabriel on starting the German Ramana - Group.

Hope it does well.

You are always welcome to post anything here in any language as well

(although a translation will be helpful to English.)

My understanding is that typically people in Germany (and most of Europe)

understand English very well. Right? Otherwise, if I ever travel to Germany,

I would be lost! :-).

We need a universal language and English is probably the closest -- most

well known and spoken language on the planet.

Love to all

Harsha

[RamanaMaharshi] German Ramana-group

Dear members,

this is not the first attempt - but the third already for a German

Ramana-group,

but today is Pentecoste (Whitsun) ... so I trust on the Holy Spirit, that

this is a good

day to start with what is very near to my heart, for the third time.

Possibly someone feels moved ...

Surely it is a very small seed which will need much care ... and of course

others to join in.

One alone will do nothing ... so I hope in the unifying force of God to

bring the

German Ramana-devotees together ... as today is Witsun, the Christian feast

dedicated to the shakti of God/Self!

Possibly I should have said all the above in German language :)

The group description is at follows:

Eine deutschsprachige Gruppe, die offen ist für alle, die an Ramana Maharshi

interessiert sind ...

- um sich über Person und Lehre Ramana Maharshis auszutauschen

- das eigene Sadhana zu vertiefen ...

- einen gemeinsamen Weg in Ramana zu finden ...

- einen Ramana-Satsangh im deutschsprachigen Raum zu gründen

Om Namo Bhagavathe Sri Ramanaaya

Dear Viorica

What a wonderful story you have told and what an important point: It

caused quite a ripple in the spine to hear how this old German

speaking lady is now able to read Ramana Maharshi in a language she

knows.

And what an impetus is here for those who work, in a big or in a

small way, in the job of translating and making Ramana Maharshi

literature available to everybody.

Sometimes certain phrases might translate more easily into German

and into English, and when working in this field it may be also

appreciated by non Tamil readers how wonderful, subtle and playful

and deep our Bhagavan can be in his writing.

Very happy indeed that you and Gabriele have, through the magic of

Arunachala, brought such joy to an old lady who is in the Autumn of

her life.

Just a note,

The most spoken language on the planet is not English but mandarin.

http://www.soyouwanna.com/site/toptens/languages/languages4.html

In fact in the last few years English as been a declined language in

term of %. Mandarin and Spanish have been gaining.

Re: [RamanaMaharshi] German Ramana-group

dear Harsha, about ten years ago I started wearing eye-glasses; those

first days of my new life as a person with eye-glasses were a kind of

revelation - only then I realized how many people around me had eye

glasses but I had never realized before. First days passed in a

continuos surprize - he too, she too, he too, she too...how didn't I

notice before?, I used to keep wondering. the answer is so simple

isn't it - you don't need eye glasses you don't realize how many

people around need them.same way, we know English so we don't realize

how many people around don't know English;translations from English

are still so much needed and so many people in the world do need

them;just to tell you a story. I have an old lady friend aged 84 here

in Jerusalem, she is Hungarian-German-Romanian speaking, and hardly

Hebrew speaking. And so willing to understand and to read spiritual

books; I gave her to read whatever was available to me in Romanian

and Hungarian but living in Israel I had not so many possibilities to

find here Ramana books in these languages. And here this German

speaking enthusiastic Ramana devotee Gabriele entered the scene and

sent me - how many? five or six books in German to offer them to this

old lady who couldn't read English. So she read Ramana Maharshi and

the path of Self Knowledge - Arthur Osborne, Mouni Sadhu's In Days of

Great Peace, Maharshi's Gospel, Who AM I?, and .... what else

Gabriele? ah, your book on Ramana also...so ..due to Gabriele's

generosity, this old lady could read so much about Ramana, otherwise

unavailable and unaccesible.Go on with your books, and translations,

and Ramana groups in whatever the language, and may you be happy for

you are such a generous person, and you made my friend who received

the books from you so happy, thank you again, generous heart, with

Namaste,

However it is unintellible and almost unlearnable to most of the

Indo-European language speakers and is not the language of

computers, diplomacy or business.

However it in itself is a lingua franca for there hundreds of

languages in China, many only understand a smattering of Mandarin.

If one takes the Indo-European groups as one language with many

dialects and prakriti, then it is the biggest on the planet.

China is not a country it is a group of cultures like

Europe....There are a billion Chinese, but there are a billion

Indians and almost a billion Europeans and Americans.....Most

Americans use English for business and so do the majority in the

E.U.....ONS..Tony.

Dear Vicki

Your comments are very kind; yes it is indeed so wonderful to

hear that David's book is to be translated into the Hebrew language.

it is also a great blessing when Bhagavan Ramana keeps us so busy

with His works.
