Guest guest
Hello, The weather in Montreal is different than usual for this time of years, leafs are happy but flowers hide by those rainy days. It puts me in the mood of reading and I was wondering if anyone on this list would have something to suggest for reading. Something you like reading again and again. Personally I like to reread the following works: Le Trésor des Humbles by Maurice Maeterlinck (don’t know if it has been translated in English its already hard to find in French). The Synthesis of Yoga and La Vie Divine (Divine Life) by Sri Aurobindo The Baghavad Gita various translations Foundation of Tibetan Mysticism by Lama Anagarika Govinda Milarepa and Tibetan Yoga and Secret doctrines translated by W.Y. Evans Wentz The Taoist Classics: I Ching – Tao Te Ching – Secret of the Golden Flower; various translations Sri Chakra by S. Shankaranarayanan The Serpent Power by Arthur Avalon Le Mystère des Cathédrales by Fulcaneli Récit d’un Pèlerin Russe (could not find the original title in Russian) and the Philocaly (Petite Philocalie de la prière du cœur in French) Any suggestion for reading that called you more than once would be appreciated. Thank you for your time, Antoine
Guest guest
Hi Antoine... Have I told you how wonderful it is to see you here again? Your words are just always so calming to me. Have you read A Course in Miracles? I think you would enjoy it -- I've read it over and over so many times and find something new constantly. I usually don't like to read books a second time -- doesn't hold my interest. But besides ACIM, Alan Cohen's books are great too! (A Dragon Doesn't Live Here Anymore... Joy is My Compass, etc. etc.) His books are very down to earth, and he discusses wisdom within daily living examples. Guest guest
Antoine, Instead of a book, can I suggest a Hindi Movie with English subtitles you can get from your local Indian grocery store? There are not too many good ones but I recall watching this a while back and found it to be nice. It's about three male friends and their search for love. Combination of romantic comedy, drama, and a bit of tragedy. Hindi movies are pretty long though (3 hours). Love to all Harsha , Antoine Carré <antoine.carre@s...> wrote: > Hello, > > The weather in Montreal is different than usual for this time of years, leafs are happy but flowers hide by those rainy days. Guest guest
Harsha, Talking about movies, the German movie Enlightenment Guaranteed is a must see. Its funny, yet goes right down to the point, there is not point of running... I saw it in German with French subtitles, it also comes with English subtitles. http://www.german-cinema.de/archive/film_view.php?film_id=331 By the way, I would love to give a try to your Hindy Movie, I would just need the title Thank you for your time, Antoine - harshaimtm << Antoine,Instead of a book, can I suggest a Hindi Movie with English subtitles you can get from your local Indian grocery store? Guest guest
Teegee!!!! :) It's so nice to read you, so refreshing. If I remember correctly I started reading ACIM on your impulse already a while ago. I just went to get the book on the shelter to find that I left my bookmark on the lesson 71 - Only God's plan for salvation will work. I'll take this as a sign that I am now ready to go on with my reading of it. I find it amazing to notice, when rereading a book, how it changes completely with the reader. All the Love to you, Antoine - teegee555 Thursday, June 03, 2004 3:43 AM Re: Reading suggestions ? Hi Antoine...Have I told you how wonderful it is to see you here again? Guest guest
Hi Antoine, The movie is Dil Chahta Hai (2001) The plot given below is the blurb I got from the web. The actual plot is more complex. Akash (Aamir Khan), Sameer (Saif Ali Khan) and Siddharth (Akshaye Khanna) have been friends since grade school. Now, years later, they're just out of college and still inseperable; nothing could come between them. But then something did: love. This Bollywood favorite follows the three as they work to balance their friendships and their relationships. Starring: Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan ...: Farhan Akhtar Genre: Foreign Language & Int'l Format: Widescreen ... Language: Hindi Subtitles: English ... Not rated. This movie has not been rated by the MPAA. --- Antoine_Carré <antoine.carre wrote: > Harsha, >> > By the way, I would love to give a try to your Hindy > Movie, I would just need the title > > Thank you for your time, > > Antoine > > - > harshaimtm > ===== /join Friends.
