Will pass this on to HS and Advaitin as well, as some may be interested in this. I am planning to put my mother's super secret recipe known to all Indians only on making authentic Indian Chai in the next issue of the HS magazine (the magazine may be renamed to yoga and tantra and good teas or something). This recipe has been in the family for many generations ever since the British Raj started encouraging high tea consumption a few hundered years ago in India. Our family motto then became, "if we must be forced to drink tea, the tea must taste good to us." Also, my mother will write an article on preparing Indian dishes which will include Aloo Parantha, Aloo mutter, Aloo Ghobi, and various types of Dahls. If there are special requests, we will throw those recipes in as well. My mother is Punjabi (North India) but one of our distinguished HS members Adiji is from the south so we will also cover all the different regions when it comes to food. And of course to top it all, my complete raw fruit guru JanB will have his special fruitarian article with fruitarian recipes for those of us who are fruitarian oriented but struggling. Love to all Harsha ===== Harsha, so many online recipes are present that it's likely there's something for every taste http://tinyurl.com/2rlfm One of the pioneers in Germany has been Helmut Wandmaker , author of several books http://www.rawfood.com/wandmaker.html Like several "colleagues", autodidactic, hence to read his books common sense will do. As he is still alive and willing to write, asking him to write an article would be a better idea though. A long read on the issue raw / cooked is at http://www.living-foodscom/articles/rawfreshproduce.html Apart from mentioning that the side effects of detoxing often resemble serious allergies and can last for months (the reason why many either give up or can't proceed unsupervised) there's nothing to say on the subject, apart from, take the experiment! Great sites! Helmut became a raw foodist at the age of 50 and is now 80! Very inspirational! Your advice to make the raw food experiment is a good one! To go on a pure fruitarian diet or a raw vegetarian diet, one has to reject the advice of modern medical science which focuses on getting a lot of protein and vitamin B12. But evidently many people have done it successfully with the results of healthy and long lives. Love, Harsha ===== /join New and Improved Mail - Send 10MB messages! Great sites! Helmut became a raw foodist at the age of 50 and is now 80! Very inspirational! Norman Walker is even more inspirational. He wrote books at age, >100! Your advice to make the raw food experiment is a good one! Love, Harsha There are enough cases of fraud and corruption in the health & food industry to seriously doubt the vitamin, medicine & supplement advice given. Remember the vit A hype? An overdose of vit A is damaging and there isn't a preemptive warning. It's a bit weird to consider that Gaia takes care of natural food for creatures with 1 exception, mankind, needing chemistry to synthesize what supposedly is denied to man. The SAD (Standard American Diet) is lacking in those basic nutrients due to elimination of compounds decreasing shelf life (with the PR term "refinement"), any wild animal gets plenty of, when living in areas where the soil hasn't been depleted by man's treatment (synthetic fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides) for profits. There are even stories of poor ppl having been living healthily for years on cat & dog food, as that is optimized for health & longevity of the furry friends whereas SAD isn't. The supplement and "fix up" pharmaceutical industry could not possibly exist without SAD.
