Guest guest
Namaste, 46) Jesus said, "Among those born of women, from Adam until John the Baptist, there is no one so superior to John the Baptist that his eyes should not be lowered (before him). Yet I have said whichever one of you comes to be a child will be acquainted with the Kingdom and will become superior to John." Purport:O'Clery. This means John is a great prophet but is not completely Liberated as yet. In other words he hasn't cleared the tendencies or samskaras from his mind. Such as doubt and certain attachments mental or physical. He may still even have the desire to `help' people. So no matter how holy John is he isn't a Realised Being or Liberated....ONS...Tony. Guest guest
According to the Gospel of Thomas?? - whoever that 19th Century ghost writer may have been. The degredation and judgment of John the Baptist is not found in the actual Gospels from the early Apostles, where Christ tells us that "John the Baptist is Elysia come again." Namaste, Thomas comes from the Nag Hammadi collection and has nothing to do with the 19th Century. There is no degradation of John by Jesus, he is just saying that he isn't a Jivanmukta yet that's all. A Jivanmukta is more advance than an Avatar for they have merged...ONS...Tony.
