Please, what is the difference between Advaita and Kashmir Shaivism

philosophy?

Somewhere I read that while advaita is pure non-duality, the philosophy of

KS is duality in non-duality.

I do not understand much of Indian philosophy, I am totally confused.

Dearest Alexandra:

Despite the influence of scholars and intellectuals, the difference is all

rather simple:

In Advaita, the adherents strictly believe that they have attained a state

of non-being, non-thought, without any ego or "I" to which they fiercely argue

and shout down all who might question the purity of their selfless

attainment; however, with Shaivism, the principle of adherence is via focusing

on the

inspiration of Lord Shiva, and the raising of the twin serpent powers of

Shakti, via the breath of fire to attain a state of surpassing attainment and

ego-less devotion to Lord Shiva, whilst fiercely defending their view that they

have attained some form of perfected wisdom, to which they will argue and

denounce those who have the temerity to question their humble attainment, or

who might, (Shiva Forbid!) suggest that Lord Shiva is a cross-dresser, a

snake-worshipper or a control-freak.

There it all is...

Myself, i take the middle path...

And that has made all the difference...

Love,

Peace,
