[this story is from the Hindu Sutra: Natha-nama-vali] "Isha Natha came to India at the age of fourteen. After this he returned to his own country and began preaching. Soon after, his brutish and materialistic countrymen conspired against him and had him crucified. After crucifixion, or perhaps even before it, Isha Natha entered samadhi or profound trance, by means of yoga. Seeing him thus, the Jews presumed he was dead, and buried him in a tomb. At that very moment however, one of his gurus or teachers, the great Chetan Natha, happened to be in profound meditation, in the lower reaches of the Himalayas, and he saw in a vision the tortures which Isha Natha was undergoing. He therefore, made his body lighter than air and passed over to the land of Israel. The day of his arrival was marked with thunder and lightning, for the god were angry with the Jews, and the whole world trembled. When Chetan Natha arrived, he took the body of Isha Natha from the tomb, woke him (Jesus) from his samadhi, and later led him off to the sacred land of the Aryans. Isha Natha then established an ashram in the lower regions of the Himalayas and he established the cult of lingam and the yoni there." According to Professor Fida Hassnain, this religion still exists today in India and some of their hymns speak of John the Baptist."

Namaste, Before I get accused again of anti semitism; let me say this--I had nothing to do with writing the Puranas. So don't start emailing me privately as usual. I have tried to explain this Jews reference in Christian, Muslim and Hindu texts and I'll try again. At the time of Jesus there were Pharisees, Samaritians, Essenes and Sadducees. The Saducees only believed in the Torah, and persecuted anyone into astrology the prophets etc, and had being doing this for years, as referenced in the Dead Sea Scrolls etc. The Sadducees had been associated with Herod in some way and were collaborators with the Roman Occupation, as well as running the Temple---an extremely luctrative enterprise---selling animals for sacrifice, changing money etc etc etc. It seems they didn't believe much in mysticism and were not into 'resurrection' as were the other Hebrew groups. The fastest growing group at the time were the Essenes and their associate peripheral devotees. However they were very much into the Kabbalah, prophets, astrology etc-so would incur the ire of the Sadducees. Which they did and look what happened to Jesus and others. The Sadducees were Judaics not Essenes or Israelites, so hence the name Jews comes up. This has nothing to do with people who call themselves Jews today. The Sadducees were destroyed with the Temple by the Romans in about 70 C.E. The remaining 'Jews', were the Pharisees and the Jewish Christians. So it was identifying with a name that causes the problem. If present day 'Jews' called themselves by another name, there wouldn't be this problem. Perhaps sticking to Talmudic Pharisaism or just plain Hebrews perhaps. This is common, as in England were people talk of King Arthur as their own hero, when in fact he led the Britons who were in fact fighting the ancestors of the English--the Anglo-Saxons. What's in a name--a lot it seems---give a dog a bad name etc. Even the Greeks of today are not fully descended from the Ancient Greeks but they identify............ONS..Tony.
