That's how it looks to me too, Vicki...the thing that knows Itself to be the Self lives it all through us, with us, as us. Looking at exactly "what's here"...honesty, as you say...seems like the straightest way to the Self when the Self appears to be out of reach. If "what's here" is regret, weakness, suffering, and the ongoing ominous you mention...then that's what's here. The Self is simply having a human experience. Noticing that and admitting it can release us from a cycle of resistance and denial; and of generally making ourselves "wrong" for how we feel. That all seems to me like grace too, though, whatever is noticed or not noticed. Maybe grace sometimes shows up looking like a choice, I don't know. We are as we are; there is no being otherwise in this moment. It seems like taking a deep breath and seeing that clearly can be a step towards the Self we never really left in the first place. The Self is all of it and can't be divided. The compassionate "yes" of the Universe somehow lives there...in not denying any part of it. As Yosy said, "Be what you are."
