Guest guest
Om Namo Bhagavathe Sri Ramanaaya Dear Friends, It would be a sad occasion indeed if in the midst of irrelevances we were to forget. Let us remember the purpose of this List as outlined by Harsha. And let us also please remember what a Very Special Day it is today. It was on the 1st September 1896 that the young boy Vekataraman arrived in Tiruvannamalai after the adventures of his incredible and prophetic journey from Madurai by train. It is now, on this day, the 108th Anniversary of His Advent to Tiruvannamalai. With running steps and quickening Heart, He ran all the way from the train station to the Temple. For it was there on that occasion, and at that time, that the Brahmin Priests in the midst of their puja, had had the need to attend to some other matter. And so it came to pass that when the young Venkataraman reached the Arunachaleswarar Temple, the doors to the Inner Sanctum were left wide open. For in this way Lord Arunachala was welcoming the Homecoming of his most belovéd Son, in Whom he is well pleased. With trembling, tears and full horripilation, the youth approached the SivaLingam where he embraced it in a melting joy. For him it was the end of the journey, and in that end was our beginning. So on this very special day, which shows the celebration of 108 years, a very sacred number indeed, may we point our hands in namaskaaram, bowing in our Heart of Hearts to Him who leads us from illusion and onward into life eternal. Let us never forget this day... Jaaya Ramana! /\
