Guest guest
Dear Pieter and all: Nothing passes to be lost, for the flame Itself has generated it and so the flame will pull It back unto Itself... Only a few weeks before his passing, I came into the sphere which surrounds Yogi Bhajan. In need of chiropractic care, and realizing the futility of trying to continue with the man who had cared for me for over 20 years, then only five minutes from my office, now well over 30 minutes away, I relented and looked for someone more local. What I found was indeed more local and more focussed to all of my needs. At a place called the The Khalsa Healing Institute, I found my way to Kundalini Yoga. Teaching it as taught my Yogi Bhajan, it is also a Meditation Institute, as well as a chiropractic facility, lovingly run and nurtured by husband and wife devotees of Yogi Bhajan. Surrounding themselves with others who teach Kundalini Yoga, they offer an environment where you can go to learn without intimidation. Suited to the person who has physical limitations, and geared towards fulfilling your needs, the practice of Kundalini is taught with patience and love. How did I get so lucky? Those of you who know me might remember my somewhat intense reluctance to the practice of yoga excercises, which I perceived as the excercise of wrapping one's legs around one's neck, and never coming back. Never say never. Talking to Hari, who also teaches yoga classes there, I overcame my reluctance to fail miserably, and decided to fail with grace instead :-) To my surprise, I really resonated with the teachings and went back for more. I can already feel myself getting stronger, and I can even get up off the floor now walking my hands! My goal is to touch my toes with my hands, forget about my nose, thank you very much!!! Where does all this come from? Who was it who brought this art to America, sharing it with so many, who said he had travelled to the West "to create teachers, not to gain students." >From what I understand, the practice of Kundalini Yoga is one which was protected for centuries, the secrets kept to a few elite. Yogi Bhajan broke the code of silence and shared the teachings, with a noble goal in mind. So, I have come to regard him differently, and to respect and be most grateful for his legacy and the teachers whom I now hold dear. What to some of us is passing news of interest, to others is the passing of their Guru. Jai Yogi Bhajan!!! There is peace on earth. There is peace on earth. There is peace on earth. There is peace on earth. There IS peace on earth. And peace begins with me. Peace to All Love to All Light to All Sat Nam.
