This is not appropriate to post on this list and in some ways is in bad

taste as well.

 

 

 

It is disrespectful to many people who take their faith seriously.

 

 

 

However, I will mention what a friend of mine, a political science professor

says.

 

 

 

He says that democracy is messy, but it is better than anything else.

 

 

 

Adi, would you post something like this on the Advaitin list? If not there,

then why here?

 

 

 

I apologize if my words hurt your feeling Adi. That is not the intent. After

reflecting on some of the things that have happened on this list in the past

several months, I have come to realize that many people simply do not

respect the list charter and keep posting things which are not consistent

with what we are all about.

 

 

 

I remind the members that this is a list devoted to Sri Ramana's teachings

in the context of yoga and meditation and inquiry. Certainly we are a sangha

and so there is lot flexibility in what we write and how we say it.

 

 

 

However, please do not treat the list as a garbage dump. Especially, putting

down the faith of other people different from you is not welcome at all.

 

 

 

If you are looking for fights over politics, religion, conflicts in the

world, etc., there are better places for your talents.

To correct the wrongs of last four years

Latinos and Evangelists cast their vote

 

to Bush in large numbers in Florida ,

 

we Floridians love Drama and Trauma ( HURRICANES)

Loss of jobs, do we care ?

 

Higher oil prices, do we care?

 

War on Terror , Homeland security

 

That is what clinched the issue

i apologize

 

in fact , i posted this in my group also

 

but i am glad you expressed your concerns

 

yes, i will not post this in 'advaitin' list only because they do not

encourage 'politics' but in your list i see Michael, Tony etc discuss

politics...

 

it is not fair to say i treat your group as a 'garbage' dump because

i posted the same in my own group- would i post this in my own group

and treat my group as a garbage dump? it was just written in a

humorous vein the morning after the elections - and i have nothing

against Christiam fundamentalists , hindu extremists or islamic

fanatics - it is just that we need to seperate politics from

religion?

 

i am a democrat and it was just painful to see another 4 years of

Republican rule !

 

but i apologize if i hurt your or anybody else's feelings

 

 

and i will delete my offending post.

ps the only reason i posted that poem here was i saw lot of
