( This comment shows neither respect nor understanding of the life

and

work of Mahatma Gandhi.)

Jill- you are absolutely right.

Gandhiji was OUTWARDLY a politician but was deeply religious at

heart. AND THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO APPEAR RELIGIOUS OUTWARDLY but

are so political ! smiles!

someone wrote about Gandhiji sleeping with two young Girls on either

side to prove ....

This appears in Gndhiji's autobiography 'An experiment with Truth"

AND By Brahmacharya, Gandhiji meant not merely celibacy but a

virtuous path which can be observed even in married life by having

absolute control on all senses and over thought too; for, he believed

that "the vitality that is responsible for the creation of life is

continuously and even unconsciously dissipated by evil, or even by

rambling, disorderly, unwanted thoughts" and that "perfectly

controlled thought is itself a power of the highest potency and can

become self-acting" (Harijan, July 23, 1938).

and SHRI RAMANA on Gandhi-ji

To a devotee's question Sri Bhagavan replied: "Gandhiji has

surrendered himself to the Divine and works accordingly with no self

interest. He does not concern himself with the results but accepts

them as they turn up. That must be the attitude of national workers.

"Devotee: Will the work be crowned with success?

"Bhagavan: The question arises because the questioner has not

surrendered himself."

"If one surrenders completely, there will be no one left to ask

questions or to be considered. Either the thoughts are eliminated by

holding on to the root thought "I", or one surrenders unconditionally

to the Higher Power. These are the only two ways to Realization."

and Gandhiji lived and breathed the teachings of Srimad Bhagwat

gita.A karmayogi and a bhakti yogi par excellance.
