Many still do. But that takes nothing away from Gandhiji because he was sincere and completely committed to his beliefs. No doubt Gandhi was a great and a spiritual giant. Someone said (maybe Schweitzer) that in the future people will hardly believe that someone like him walked this earth. When the news of Gandhi's death reached Ramana, he cried and said that people like him (Gandhi) know that there death is coming before hand but keep quiet about it.
