You ask my why I make my home in the mountain forest,

and I smile, and am silent,

and even my soul remains quiet:

it lives in the other world

which no one owns.

The peach trees blossom.

The water flows.

You ask me why I make my home in the desert,

and I smile, and am silent,

and even my soul remains quiet:

it lives in the slopes of the desert,

it lives in the salt of the sea,

it lives in the heat of the summer,

it lives in everything it sees.

You ask me why I make my home in the desert,

and I smile, and am silent,

and even my soul remains quiet:

It lives in this world, and the other

which no one owns,

and loves everything it sees,

or doesn't see.

You ask me why I make my home in the desert,

and I smile, and am silent,

and even my soul remains quiet.

The first rain blessed the earth,

The water flows.
