Spiritual versus material life can be measured in terms of vertical and horizontal life respectively. This was Sri Paramahamsa Nityanand’s technique for a semblance of bliss in today’s stressful world. He was speaking on ‘Quantum Spirituality and Meditation’ at the Sindhi School in Bangalore. Sri Nityanand explained how quantum solved the problem of matter and energy. "Even scientists have sects and superstitions, they collect data which supports theory”, he said. The one thing he stressed on through the talk was that there was really no distinction between spiritual and material life. He believes that as long as spirituality is a part-time activity, there would be guilt and hypocrisy. Quoting from the Upanishads, the Koran and from Ramana Maharshi’s teachings, he emphasised that meditation was not a quantity to be added to one’s routine but a quality. He also took questions from a packed audience. To a query on increasing negative energy in the world, he noted how stone writings of Mesopotamian culture 5000 years ago, also spoke of negativity then.
