Namaste,

In the ancient times in India there was still a need for a military.

However the rules of engagement were different. One was only allowed

to attack in defence. If an adversary had his sword down in a non

aggressive position, he was safe. As soon as he raised it this was

regarded as an attack, and he could be engaged.

In Western Europe there was the age of Chivalry, which covered rules

for war down to manners at the table.

Where are Ahimsa and Chivalry now? In a world of pre-emptive

strikes, ethnic cleansing, killing of innocents and killing of

prisoners of war who are wounded.

The old saying of 'Ill-gotten'gains is taken to a deeper

understanding in Hindu and Buddhist thought. If one steals, or

occupies, or gains money or wealth from others in an illicit or

violent way it carries the seeds of destruction.

The vibrations associated with stealing or gaining illicitly are

always associated with the gains. This is why in the long run the

ill gotten gains usually bring bad luck not good luck, why ethnic

cleansing eventually fails, where business fraud eventually fails

etc etc etc..

This is extended even to the kitchen, which is regardes as a sacred

place almost. For one doesn't want one cooking who may put negative

vibrations into the food..........S
