Guest guest
Namaste, Many systems allow the eating of eggs provided they are unfertilised and are free run or free range..........Paramahamsa Yogananada did allow it. This is based on the idea that eggs are not yet an animal in the most popular sense. If they are unfertilised then they are not even at a plant stage. So no creature is being harmed. It doesn't violate Ahimsa. Although it may violate some strict dietary concepts. Many vegetarians that I know will eat eggs now and then, especially when visiting or under some other pressure. Such as a friend or a spouse etc. It is better not to eat them but if you must, avoid the battery style if you possibly can. This compromise has saved many a family and marriage........and hurt nobody......Eating meat is something else for it involves the violation of Dharma, Daya and Ahimsa....ONS...Tony.
