Guest guest
A couple weeks ago I was happy to shed light on a most moving film called 'Rabbit Proof Fence'. Well believe it or not I have just finished watching a work of art of the same caliber and inspiration. It is called 'Whale Rider'. Though not a true tale like 'Rabbit Proof Fence' it is a fable/myth working on many levels of archetypes that run so deep it reaches the soul. Works of art just as these two films are extremely rare in my experience and to be blessed enough to come into contact with such wonderful feats of expression even once in a lifetime, let alone twice in the span of several weeks is something to be thankful for and share. If you happen to be touched, inspired or moved by this film by all means please let a friend know about it and pass along the vibe. -------------------------- Description: There is a legend that Paikea rode on the back of a whale and led his people to New Zealand. Since that time tradition has decreed that the first-born male descendant will become chief of the tribe. Then Pai is born...and she is a girl. She grows up within a close-knit village which retains the tribes traditional spiritual relationship with the sea and their warrior values. Although loved by all, Pai faces rejection from her grandfather, Koro, who is brokenhearted that there is no grandson to carry on the line. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000CABBW/qid=1102300834/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/104-8191224-3183947?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846
