I can go there. I can see that you have every right to hold that as your reality and I can respect that. Regarding your last sentence (not because you asked, but because I totally enjoy talking to myself - *grin*), for me, it's not about dropping the mind. For me, it's about the direct seeing *right now in this very moment* that the mind is not who I am. When I can gaze at the mind as if it is sitting right here in the palm of my hand, clearly I can see that it has no reality... and because of that, I can also realise that anything that is (or was) contained in it (which is just about everything) never actually happened.
