Guest guest
Dear Harsha and Michael, as far as I know this quote is from Shri Nisargadutta Maharaj, who said something like: In Bombay only one person in a million is able to understand my teaching. Guest guest
Hi Ramana was pretty clear, saying if you think there are inequities in the world, find out if you were born in the first place, and then see if there is a problem. He said clearly being is the simplest thing there is, preceding any thought of non-being. Christ says "I am" before he says I am this or that, so being precedes any layering of mind or thought of non-being. Ramana says simply, ask 2 questions "who am I" and "to whom does this thought arise." The underlying presence shows itself as loving space. Who is Michael? Who is David Godman? Who is Ramana? Who is Harsha? Who is Michael McCarthy? All a liquid pool of consciousness, I am or existence precedes all thoughts of separation. Love to you Michael --- MICHAEL BINDEL <michael_bindel wrote: Dear Harsha i asked David Goodman for help on your request and got this answer i try to find other sources too i agree completely with David Goodmans opinion and am rather very "vulnerable" if people declare they got "it" or understood "it" For me it emphasises a fact (unfashionable to many people nowadays) that true enlightenment is a rare event i am always very very critical to myself - just in the last time started to be "softer" and more "loving" with "myself" due to what i learned from you and others.... thank you for your help and patience in Ramana michael >David Godman <david_godman >michael_bindel >David Godman >Tue, 21 Dec 2004 05:15:32 +0000 (GMT) > > > > >Dear Michael, > > I don’t recollect Bhagavan saying anything like this, but my memory on these matters is not so perfect. Guest guest
Dear Michael Mccarthy: Thank you for sharing. Yes, Sri Ramana was always very clear. And the devotees know it. Bhagavan is actually very predictable most of the time in what he says. This is why when a person posts something attributing to Sri Ramana which is not characteristic of Sri Ramana, it is fairly easy to spot. People should assimilate Bhagavan's teachings and make it their own. Once that is done, no problem. As a practical matter, since this list is devoted to Sri Ramana's teachings, any gross or subtle misrepresentation of Bhagavan is not looked upon favorably. Love to all Harsha michael mccarthy wrote: >Hi > >Ramana was pretty clear, saying if you think there are >inequities in the world, find out if you were born in >the first place, and then see if there is a problem. >He said clearly being is the simplest thing there is, >preceding any thought of non-being.
