Guest guest
Dear Friends: There is an old saying. When one digs in one place, eventually, one strikes water. However, if one spends the same energy but digs for a little while here and a little while there, ultimately one ends up with many holes in the ground but no water. This is true on the spiritual path as well. I see many people focusing here and there and speculating on enlightenment and what the enlightened state is, etc. Some even confidently quote so called "enlightened" ones describe their state of enlightenment and then explain to us what it is. It is all bogus, all these things, and such descriptions have no meaning whatsoever. Those devoted to the Self never get caught up in such nonsense. Sri Ramana used to say that the only knowledge worth having is Self-Knowledge. And Self Knowledge is beyond any description of enlightened state or mind or any concept of Self-Knowledge. Sri Ramana has said, "To Know the Self is but to Be the Self, For it is non-dual In such knowledge One abides as that (From the Collected Works - The Essence of Instruction). Often the questions of false teachers comes up. Once Sri Ramana was asked about the fate of the guru who is a false teacher and the fate of his/her disciples. Sri Ramana said, "Each according to their merit." So one need not worry. What is merited is received both by the guru and the student. Sometimes the question comes up of false gurus and how does one protect against them. Of course, it is the purity of the student himself/herself that is the main protection against a false teacher. By purity, I mean Self-Awareness. How can one who is radiant with Self-Delight be deceived. Who can deceive and how and with the promise of what? Love to all Harsha
