I am sure the pharma industry won't take > kindly to this study. I'm sure they're doing research into it. The problem is that they won't share the results of their research. They'll make some patenable sythentic molecule with side effects and charge folks up the ying yang to buy it. I'm not a diabetic but I remember reading that a drug called metformin (glucophage) used for diabetics to control insulin, & glucose actually mimiced the indicators for consuming the optimal amount of calories, which is the most reliable way to extend life. In short, metformin will make people live longer. (which I could care less about, but I am interested in quality of living) I tried it for a year and while shopping around for it on the net remembered this study on cinnamon. I'm wondering if the two work similarily. A year's worth of cinnamon would cost 18.00 whereas metformin over 200.00. David
