It's my experience that if there are tendencies, they are going to come out no matter who I'm with! (And anyway, who am I to decide who is bad and who is good?) The question for me isn't about what's coming out, or with whom. The question for me is, "Who am I, in the midst of this? Who am I, even *now*?" Love and blessings back! (And anyway, who am I to decide who is bad and who is good?) $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Dear Sweet Child. Everyone does what makes sense to them. Although in truth the Absolute is beyond all opposites such as good and bad, Shastras tell us that discriminative intelligence is important on the path. When the mind and the intellect are fully surrendered to the Lord, then everything is fine. When we look at the actions of sages, they are invariably kind and forgiving. Jesus said while he was suffering, "Forgive them Father for they don't know what they do." So we have many indications from scriptures regarding what is good and what is bad. Kindness, forgiveness, charity, these are considered good because they dissolve separation. Rage, anger, cruelty, hatred, these are considred bad because they create separation. The truly good, whose hearts are pure, are able to eventually take the leap into the unknown, because they have lost their fear of being separate from anything. That is what the sages say. There are many ways to understand all these things. Stay with what makes sense and what feels comfortable. If you stay with good people, love feels comfortable. Love and blessings Love, serve, and be helpful, but without getting disgusted, tired, pessimistic, and exhausted. Blessings dear souls, blessings!
