Guest guest
In what manner does one question "Who am I?" ? Do you scan the physical "location" of the body for the source of the ego? Is it more of a "feeling" thing ? Is it kind of like waiting for a thought to appear and trying to catch the source of the thought? Do you take WHATEVER arises moment-to-moment, and try to pin-point the "internal" source of the arising? Does the searching seem to change "location" or quality over time as success unfolds? Are you able to do this while engaged in daily activities? It seems that when I do this, I have to stop external activity, and I tend to lose track of what I was doing. Is the same method used for formal sitting meditation? You don't need to answer ALL these questions. Just give me a hint if I'm on the right track. Thanks for any responses. BH > Instead of wanting to know this and that, seek to know the Self. Ask "Who am I?" instead of asking about hundred other things. What one has to do is simple - to abide as the Self. This is the ultimate truth. This is one's eternal, natural, inherent state. Let us search for the root of the ego. Where from does this pseudo- I arise? > At the end of this quest we shall find that the ego disappears letting the eternal Self shine. > If one surrenders one's ego to either the Guru or G'D, one realizes the Self. > > Sri Bhagavan always stressed the one essential truth that was necessary for liberation. > That there is only one Self and nothing but the Self. > Know that and everything else is known. This cannot be repeated too often..... > > Doubtless, an intellectual grasp of this fact sets one on the path, but the path once started, mental knowledge must than become actual experience.
