was not on hand for the actual slap. This story, which was told to me

by a few long-time disciples who claimed that Chinmoy himself had told

them. BTW, the Mother has written about Chinmoy in a highly negative

way in what I believe is called "The Mother's Agenda." I have seen

the what she has written and it's readily available. If anyone has an

interest, I can, no doubt, find it for you. It's been a few years

since I read her account of Chinmoy's behavior both inside and

outside the Sri Aurobindo ashram.I can tell you from first hand

experience that Chinmoy had a very negative opinion of the Mother as

well, and quoted Sri Aurobindo as saying, (in reference to the

Mother), "She is killing me."Whether or not that was true, would be

sheer speculation on my part, but, like father like son, perhaps,

Chinmoy had a very bad time of it with his own, now discredited,

Shakti, who was known as Alo Devi (Beverly Siegerman).Chinmoy would

often say about Beverly, "She is killing me."It seems that Avatars

have just as many "marital" problems as the rest of us, haha. Maybe

it's just their expression of Oneness with the rest of us.Gary

"my wife is an angel" someone told nasrudin. "yes, i know what you

mean. mine isn't human either" replied nasrudin.
