influence. Questions are put and questions are answered. Our inner longing for

There are those

persons who need to practice some kind of spiritual discipline, and there are

those rare souls who do not need to practice. Many persons seem to

satisfy themselves by tinkering with philosophy and speculation. But for

those who pursue spiritual practices, in order for that particular practice to

be effective, one should practice it whole heartedly and without any

doubt. The main object of sadhana is to overcome conditioning. This

conditioning is so strong and pervasive that only an obstinate persistence in

practice will result in the ultimate success. You obviously have respect

for the teachings of Ramana Maharshi and you feel attracted to

atma-vichara. Now, either practice that with all your heart and strength,

or call upon your inner self, like a child calling for its mother, and ask that

divine guidance within you what you should do.

By asking

persons such as ourselves, you will receive all kinds of guidance and

suggestions. Also, in the body of literature associated with Ramana

Maharshi you will find all kinds of answers. There is something for

everyone. You can find almost anything that you want to find there.

But I tell you something true: the imperishable, almighty SELF, in the form of

the inner guru lives within you. It recognizes the sincere desire of the

devotee and will never fail to guide you and to answer you. The only

requirement is a sincere longing. Once you receive the inner guidance,

nothing can stop you.
