Thought for the Day 6/25/05

Patience makes things work.

When the sudden success explodes in the rewarding immediacy of the

moment, patience has led to that moment.

Things that happen too easily, too quickly, can fool us into believing in instant

gratification, like winning a thousand dollars the first time you try a slot

machine. That thousand dollars can cost you everything.

There are years of hard work behind the overnight success. Dues have been

paid, lessons learned.

It takes work to reach effortlessness.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step, one step at a time,

one day at a time.

Even the big lottery winners often fare not well.

Patience is the characteristic of meditation, sitting, waiting, ultimately not even

waiting, just being.
