- how do you do?

my maternal-unit died a swift death -

she was on the freeways 30 miles to work,

got off the freeway, drove to her assigned parking spot

at the elementary school she worked, parked legally,

and then died before she could turn off her car

(which then ran for 6 hours until school got out).

she probably did not suffer much,

no extended illness or pain,

didn't have to wear diapers or drool,

or have someone feed her,

and she still looked great in her high heels last New Year's!

(she was 72)

who could ask for more? ;-)

but - yes - front lines.

she left no will, so it was me who

is 'personal rep' for everything,

which i guess they call "probate".

my life has been turned upside down

because of it (which maybe is a *good* thing -

oh, it's ALL good, they're saying).

well - sure i love the wilderness here,

but the culture (or lack of) is really getting

on my nerves.

bars, churches, liquor stores

and now jewelry stores

owned by cruise ship industries - they've bought

all of downtown (except where i work - fed gov $) -

they come and go between here and Carribean in winter -

downtown is boarded up and closed until first cruise ships again -

then it's all jewelry stores and duty-free souveniers from the carribe -

leftover stock?

it's always something!

REAL person spiritual life here = become a right-wing fundamentalist

christian someone, Mormon, Jehovah's Witnesses or Ba'Hai (whoever that is).

i'll pass.

start degree program tomorrow -

thru here (alaska - shew! last minute)

but was accepted in Hawai'i first for Fall,

and supposed to start in Spring over there.

i want OFF this rock!!! lol

and i'm al-ready gone...

la la la la la!
