Guest guest
Kundalini may awaken through any kind of spiritual practice, or none at all. Some have even experienced kundalini awakening in response to personal trauma or a personal meaning search outside of any spiritual practice. Kundalini may also be awakened by a guru who gives shaktipat initiation. (Sri Anandi Ma, who works in both India and this country, is one such guru. ) What is the difference between an awakened kundalini and a dormant one? I experienced an awakened kundalini as a profoundly speeded-up process of purification of the mental, emotional, and extended personal and transpersonal realms of being--a process that once begun, is completely unstoppable and beyond the control of the individual. It is different for everyone. I experienced the awakened kundalini initially as the transformative power allowing states of ecstasy or union/samadhis, whatever one may call it--the unnameable experience of being in god that created overnight the condition in which every aspect of being strives towards that union, strives to live in that state of liberation, strives for this beyond any other experience, through all of life from that time forward. It is one way the river flows into "I am".
