Guest guest
Jill, The diagnosis was rendered by a research hospital in California by Neurologists. I did not make the original assessment though I did see a copy of the report. The event occurred back in the late 70s. I can only tell you that the general symptoms included lots of pain, muscle failure to hold the vertabrae in place so his body kept experiencing the kind of "collapse" which acute scoliosis can cause. He would just kind of "fold up like a rag doll". In the beginning he had to have gentle stretching and adjustments to put things back in place. It took about three years before his body began to seriously take hold and gain a degree of control. There was nothing the medical profession could offer to be of real assistance. It took about 7 years before he was restored to full function. He did not lose function of his arms or legs; the major problems were along the spinal columns itself and on the torso. In the beginning there were problems with his neck for the first year while the majority of the symptoms were on the torso and seemed to involve neuro-muscular reactions. I am aware that many people with MS symptomology are highly intelligent or much in their mind. I had not connected this problem with MS but there could be a remote connection. Apart from osteopathic treatment and regulation of his diet there was no other treatment except to support the body's own regenerative processes. He also stopped all meditation practices as that would trigger the "collapse". He was able to go to work toward the end of the third year but nothing that involved mental exercise. He worked as a janitor for a while and that seemed helpful to his progress. Light physical exercise seemed to help but only after several years had passed. We did do some light massage and energy balancing work. Energy work in the beginning was very painful and caused problems, even energy harmonizing treatments. He just had to live with it and let nature takes its course. That's about all I can remember. John L. , Jill Eggers <eggersj@g...> wrote: > Hi John, > > Thanks for your response below.
