Guest guest
Dear Benny, welcome to the group. There are times when its busy and others, like now, when its not. Maybe you would like to tell the group a little about yourself and if you you have questions pertaining to your sadhana don't hesitate to ask. I am sure someone here will try to help to the best of their ability and in the spirit of Maharshi. Guest guest
Thank you, I live in Central Florida with my wife and our dogs. We are cleaning up yet from heavy storms. I am more often aware of my breath. Today I ran the tractor across the weeds which have grown up where the trees had fallen and had been removed. Many insects and butterflys were feeding, I was cutting them and the plants down. I justified it by agreeing to plant the soil soon. I plan to plant grass however. That will not provide the same variety and quantity of nectar to the insects. So I thought about it and may plant a cover of these tiny peanuts instead. It has rained almost 2 inches per day this last week here. Like the rains of the early 60s. The most striking thing to me is the aliveness of the eyes in all the photos of Ramana I have seen-- Sometimes I have enough awareness to catch myself in between these succession of postures that I seem to move through. Like the stop exercise. Benny RamanaMaharshi, christiane cameron <christianecameron@m...> wrote: > Dear Benny, > > welcome to the group. Guest guest
Dear Benny, Welcome to the group. After being associated with Sri. RamanaMaharshi for an year or so, all I can say from my experience is that, your association and complete trust in the Guru is sufficient enough to get all the help and guidence you require. All of your questions in this path will be answered by him until he makes you realize that the questions are themselves the hinderence in getting closer to his perfect silient nature of existence, consiousness and peace. Praying for his supreme grace for all the lovely people in this group. Yours Dileep

Guest guest
Hello, All. My name is Rose, I'm 57, I live in rural upstate New York. I've travelled a very ecclectic spiritual route, but it's mostly focused on New Age, although I started back in the 70's when it was called the occult. It's been an interesting journey, but in the end, I don't believe it has done anything for me. I feel that studying and practicing the traditional yogas is the Path I must take. I know of Ramana Maharshi, although not very much, but enough to know that he was a precious jewel on this earth. Currently, I'm trying to get my bearings as far as the various yogic paths, but I really am a green beginner. I've just gotten a set of CD's by Georg Feuerstein on the "Lost Teachings of Yoga," which is a good introduction to the wide umbrella of yoga and yogic practices. His book, which I intend to get next, is entitled "The Yoga Traditions" is more of a textbook and goes into real depth. I tend toward a nondualist approach but that is my nature. Unfortunately, as yet I have no idea what yogic path would suit this disposition. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this part of my journey. In the meantime, my husband and I have become vegans and our health is improving. I would most welcome any comments, suggestions, observations. Thanks, Rose

Jnana Yoga is a technique for seeking liberation in which identification with the real Self (rather than with the body or ego) is developed by a steady effort to discern or discriminate between pure awareness and the objects of awareness. Jnana Yoga is closely associated with Advaita Vedanta. Vedanta is one of the six darshans or philosophies of Hinduism, and Advaita Vedanta is the school of thought within Vedanta which believes that everything in the universe shares a single soul, including you, me, and God. The techniques of Jnana Yoga include: Viveka. This means "discernment" or "discrimination" in English. This technique, associated especially with Shankara, involves a deliberate, continuous effort to understand that the real you -- the Self -- is something separate from the objects of which you are aware. Neti-neti. This phrase means "not this, not this" in Sanskrit. You apply this formula mentally to all objects of awareness to destroy the false sense that they are you. When all the objects are banished, the real you -- the Self -- is what's left over. Vicara. This word is usually translated as "self-inquiry," but it really means examination, reflection, or looking within. This technique, associated especially with Ramana Maharshi, involves a continuous, deliberate effort to become aware of the real you -- the Self. http://www.realization.org/page/topics/jnana_yoga.htm Or Ati Yoga Dzogchen When you act as my student, as a member of the Dzogchen Community, and do Santi Maha Sangha Trainings regularly, then you must understand that the Dzogchen Community is like being in a Big Boat that carries all my students to whom I have transmitted all my transmissions of Dzogchen Ati Yoga, and takes them to the final goal of its realization sooner or later. That means that the Dzogchen Community is a guarantee to all my students that they will get to the final goal sooner or later with my transmissions of Dzogchen Ati Yoga. an example http://www.tsegyalgar.org/teachings/oct2001.html namaste, Era my yoga page of OM yoga <http://santmat-meditation.net/yoga/realization.html> ..
